It’s getting hot out there, y’all! So let’s make sure to keep cool as summer is quickly approaching. Summer research programs and summer internships are just around the corner, and we want you all to know that NRMN and MyNRMN can be valuable tools to create new ideas, find more people to add to your network, catch up on some new courses, and much more. In this Enhancements and Highlights, we want to dive into the Out of Office feature, the Video Screen Sharing feature, and showcase the new Survey feature.
Reminder: Make sure you aren’t missing out! Check your Junk, Spam, and/or Clutter folders to ensure you aren’t missing any requests from MyNRMN. Update your settings to receive these messages in your Inbox!
Another new feature added to MyNRMN is the Video Sharing tool. This feature will allow you to share your screen with anyone in the video call. I am sure you have used the screen share feature with other video sharing tools such as Zoom or Teams. However, after using these other video sharing tools, the team here at NRMN realized this tool could help mentors show specific assignments, conference registrations, or different manuscripts they are working on. This feature can now be utilized within the MyNRMN Video Call tool.
The Survey tool is a brand new feature within MyNRMN to collect feedback on any topic. We will utilize this feedback to help enhance the platform and make sure our members use the platform in the best way possible. The survey admin can create a custom survey form that includes text boxes, checkboxes, multiple choice questions, drop-down fields, etc. Surveys can be shared with anyone by sharing the public survey link or QR code. Please reach out to the MyNRMN admin if you want to learn more about the survey tool.
Out of Office
The Out of Office tool within MyNRMN is designed to help our mentors establish when they will be on the platform and available for mentorship or when they are out of the office. This tool is handy for mentees to recognize when their mentor is on the platform or available to chat. This is a valuable tool for MyMentor, so our MyNRMN admin can make sure to only match mentees with particular mentors available at the time. Now let’s show you how to change your office hours. First, click on the drop-down menu next to your name and select My Profile. After you get to the profile page, you can scroll down to where it says Office Hours and has a toggle. Click the toggle to ON and then change the dates to the appropriate dates. After updating your Out of Office hours, always make sure to hit submit changes. It is that simple!
