About the Mentorship and Networking Core
The Mentorship and Networking Core (MNC) develops an in-person and online network of mentors and mentees in order to increase the number of scientists from diverse backgrounds in biomedical, behavioral, clinical and social science research careers. The MNC oversees the development and management of this NRMNet.net website as an online resource for mentorship, networking and professional development. This includes the NRMN Virtual Mentoring Program which entails a four-month experience with regular, guided interactions between mentors and mentees at a distance.
The virtual mentoring experience is designed to help mentors and mentees:
- Develop meaningful mentoring relationships beyond their own institutions
- Work closely and regularly with another person who is navigating a career path in science
- Navigate conversations critical to the success of diverse scholars
