What does NRMN online mentoring involve?

NRMN Online Mentors will commit to mentoring at least one NRMN Mentee for a four-month mentoring cycle. Depending on the career stage of the mentee, the length of the mentoring cycle and the frequency of contact will vary.

NRMN Online Mentors of undergraduate students: Pairs typically communicate 15-20 minutes weekly during a four-month mentoring cycle in which 16 prompts are presented for discussion. Following a cycle, mentees may invite their current mentor or a new mentor to begin a new mentorship. As the mentee advances, NRMNet provides prompts relevant to their current educational level and personal interests.

NRMN Online Mentors of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty: Pairs typically communicate 15-20 minutes every other week during a four-month mentoring cycle in which xx prompts are presented for discussion. Following a cycle, mentees may invite their current mentor or a new mentor to begin a new mentorship. As the mentee advances, NRMNet provides prompts relevant to their current educational level and personal interests.
