Adriana Báez, PhD is Professor of Pharmacology &amp; Otolaryngology at the University of Puerto Rico Medical School. Dr. Báez’s research is focused on the molecular and clinical determinants of head and neck cancer progression. She is co-Director of the NIH NRMN-RROC Initiative and an active facilitator for NRMN. She participated as a facilitator in a randomized controlled educational trial sponsored by the University of Wisconsin that is the basis for the <em>Mentor Training for Clinical and Translational Researchers</em> curriculum. She has facilitated mentor and mentee training for different institutions in Puerto Rico. Her curricular expertise includes <em>Mentor Training for Clinical and Translational Researchers</em> and <em>Mentoring Up</em> for biomedical sciences graduate students and postdocs.
Dr. Báez has ample experience supporting the research endeavors of multiple undergraduate students, graduate students, and Otolaryngology residents. She has served as faculty sponsor of multiple graduate students and undergraduate honor students. In addition, Dr. Báez has helped launch several initiatives at the UPR Medical Sciences Campus, Ponce Health Sciences University, and Loma Linda University to jumpstart the scientific career of graduate students and junior faculty. Dr. Báez holds degrees from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (PhD) and the University of Puerto Rico (BS).
