The National Research Mentoring Network, in partnership with the UAB Minority Health and Health Disparities Research Center (MHRC), is proud to present this series of videos on health disparities research entitled NRMN Health Research Talks.

The 8-video series provides professional development information for junior faculty planning research careers as independent investigators in fields related to community-based health and health disparities.

The videos will be available to watch on this web page as each is published, as well as on a dedicated playlist within the NRMN YouTube Channel.

Mona FouadThroughout the series, faculty from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and Tuskegee University discuss various health and health disparities research topics in a lively interview format. The series begins with “What are Social Determinants of Health and How Do They Relate to Health Disparities Research? An Overview,” led by Mona N. Fouad, MD, MPH, Senior Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion, Director and Professor, Division of Preventive Medicine, Director, Minority Health and Health Disparities Research Center, UAB School of Medicine.

Fouad leads the NRMN effort at UAB, in collaboration with the NRMN Research Resources and Outreach Core (RROC) at Morehouse School of Medicine, and the Professional Development Core (PDC).
