2017 Training Workforce Development (TWD) Program Directors’ Meeting 

June 18-21, 2017 in Baltimore, MD

If you will be attending TWD 2017, please note that there will be several opportunities to hear updates about several different facets of NRMN programming. Two Principle Investigators from National Research Mentoring Network -NRMN, Drs. Rafael Luna and Jamboor Vishwanatha will be providing updates on the network during separate plenary sessions. Additionally, Dr. Rick McGee will be presenting a poster covering mentorship curriculum that is being developed by the NRMN team. For details please see below.

Dr. Rick McGee will be presenting a poster titled “Training Curricula For Improving Mentoring Relationship Through the National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN)”

Dr. Jamboor Vishwanatha will be giving a plenary lecture on behalf of NRMN titled “NRMNet and MyNRMN: Tools for Mentoring and Networking”
 
TWD 2017 Meeting Description: A goal of the NIGMS Division of Training, Workforce Development, and Diversity (TWD) is to create a community of trainers and educators dedicated to developing a well-prepared, diverse biomedical research workforce.
Toward that end, the focus of this year’s TWD Program Directors’ Meeting is to continue to build and strengthen the partnerships and networks within the TWD community. The meeting will address the value of sustained networking among the grantees, students and other communities served by these programs. The meeting will enable program directors to learn more about other TWD programs; establish connections with potential new partners, especially regional “neighbors”; and collectively address the Institutes’ research training objectives.
