Mentoring Up: Learning to pro-actively engage with your research mentor

Succeeding in academia for graduate students is facilitated by helpful mentoring relationships.  This means learning to pro-actively engage with your faculty mentors, or in other words, “mentoring up.” During this interactive workshop, attendees will be introduced to the concept of “mentoring up” and to the seven principles of effective mentoring relationships. We will discuss case studies in small groups, and share promising practices and practical tools to improve your mentoring relationships.
