Limited Space Available!: Career Coaching Training through Professional Mentoring Skills Enhancing Diversity (PROMISED)

While Fellowship applications are now closed for the Professional Mentoring Skills Enhancing Diversity (PROMISED) Program, limited space is still available for faculty to participate in the PROMISED Career Coaching Training Workshop.  The training is geared towards mentors who are passionate about helping mentees from diverse backgrounds drive their careers forward.  The training will take place in Pittsburgh September 14-16, 2016.  Lodging and most meals are covered by the program.  You just need to get to Pittsburgh!  Please contact Doris Rubio dmr18@pitt.edu if interested.

Professional Mentoring Skills Enhancing Diversity (PROMISED)

Build your leadership skills through the Professional Mentoring Skills Enhancing Diversity (PROMISED) program. PROMISED training will expand your career coaching, leadership, and mentoring skills to help you more effectively mentor scientists from diverse backgrounds.

PROMISED offers an innovative, no-cost program that combines:

• Career coaching training in Pittsburgh for mentors passionate about helping mentees drive their careers forward
• A series of one-month, online training modules, focused on helping mentors develop a range of critical leadership skills (Space now filled!)

Participants in career coaching will receive a lodging stipend and CME credit. Participants who complete both components of the program will also earn a Certificate in Leadership and recognition as National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN) fellows, so those accepted to the online training cohort are encouraged to apply for the career coaching portion as well.

Who Should Apply?

If you are a mentor at the associate professor level or equivalent, PROMISED is designed for you.

PROMISED is sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and funded by the National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN). NRMN is a nationwide consortium of health science professionals and institutions collaborating to provide students and scientists across all career stages of health sciences research with enhanced networking, professional development, research resources, and mentorship experiences.
