By November 17, 2021No Comments

The holiday season is here! Not only is it the perfect time for stuffing and hot chocolate, but it’s also a great time to dive into MyNRMN. The holidays may slow everything down, but the MyNRMN team is working at full speed to provide beneficial tools and resources for you! This month, we are giving you more insight on the MyNRMN points system and how you can rack up your points. Also, there are many new users this fall and we want to guide you into the perfect start for your career or academic journeys.

Reminder: Make sure you aren’t missing out! Check your Junk, Spam, and/or Clutter folders to ensure you aren’t missing any requests from MyNRMN.  Update your settings to receive these messages in your Inbox!

MyNRMN Points Structure

MyNRMN uses a points system for its members. Points are a great way to identify active users. The more active you are in the network, the more points you will receive. If you click the top right diamond on your MyNRMN page, the points system displays a chart of the activity you can do to gain points. You can gain points for commenting, liking, connecting, etc. Also, you may not have known, but if you complete the MyMentor program, you receive 100 points! Sounds like it’s a great time to experience culturally aware guided virtual mentoring. Start gaining points today to let people know you are active and want to connect!

Where Should New Users Start

We have seen an increase in new users this fall. We are excited to have you join the MyNRMN platform. I’m sure you are wondering to yourself, where do I start? No worries! Our community of over 20,000 mentors and mentees would love to help you out. The Ask A Mentor feature on MyNRMN is a great starting point for new users. Using Ask A Mentor, you can ask questions about MyNRMN, research, grant writing, experiences, etc. It’s a safe space to get answers from other STEM professionals. Also, feel free to join the many virtual groups within MyNRMN. There are groups with different topics, catering to different career stages. It’s another great way to start connecting and networking with the NRMN community.
