MyMentor: Start the New Semester Strong!
While a new semester is always fun and exciting, it can also come with a lot of stress. Use this time ahead of the start to set up a support system – MyMentor can help! MyMentor is NRMN’s signature one-on-one guided virtual mentoring platform where mentees and mentors connect in a long-term mentorship. To help facilitate the mentoring connection, each dyad receives a series of 19 discussion prompts to guide them through the course of the connection. These prompts focus on culturally aware topics such as aligning expectations, being the ‘other’ in an environment, and rebounding from failure (just to name a few). These connections typically last 4-5 months, but the timeline and duration are completely customizable to meet the needs of each mentee and mentor. Recruitment Season: Visit and Post Opportunities to the Jobs & Internships Board
For many institutions, the fall means recruitment season! If you need help promoting an opening or opportunity, utilize MyNRMN’s Jobs and Internships Board. Or if you are looking for something for yourself, the opportunities posted in the Jobs & Internships Board range from job postings to funding opportunities, to summer research, to calls for abstracts and posters, and everything in between. To access the new Jobs & Internships Board, simply log into your MyNRMN account and select “Jobs & Internships” from the grey panel on the left. It’s easy to post a job, star a post to return to later, and leave comments on posts to provide your recommendations.
Coming Soon: New look for MyNRMN!
NRMNet.net recently launched a new look and now MyNRMN is about to do the same. In case you haven’t noticed, we’ve been adding so many new features in recent years that the list in the panel on the left side of the page was getting long! We took this as an opportunity to reorganize and simply the structure of MyNRMN. All of your favorite mentoring and networking resources will still operate the same, they’ll just be accessible from a menu at the top instead of a panel on the left. This new change is coming soon, so be on the lookout and let us know what you think!
