Fourteen individuals from the National Research Mentoring Network attended the 10th annual Understanding Interventions that Broaden Participation in Science Careers conference, which was held in Baltimore, Maryland March 2-4, 2018.  Twelve presentations from representatives across cores focused on the work of NRMN, including posters, symposia, and deeper dive sessions.

Dr. Rick McGee, Co-Investigator at the Mentor Training Core, received an award for his team at UI.

Among the highlights of this year’s conference was the recognition of the work of the team from Northwestern led by Dr. Rick McGee, co-investigator of the NRMN grant and member of the Mentorship Training and Professional Development Cores.  Dr. McGee and his team from Northwestern University were honored with the 2018 Adolphus Toliver Award, which honors teams engaged in intervention work that broadens participation in the sciences.
