On Friday, June 30, 2017, Dr. Elizabeth Ofili (Principal Investigator) along with the Research Resources and Outreach Core (RROC) members held their 1st annual Strategic Planning Meeting at Morehouse School of Medicine. During this meeting, the core members summarized RROC’s year 1-3 accomplishments, realigned RROC programs with NRMN’s Four Pillars, conducted future planning for years 2017-2019, and clarified the programmatic functions of the Health Disparities Learning Collaboratory (HDLC), Mentor Academy Institutional Planning, Getting the Grant, and Shark Tank programs.

The team synergized to discuss and enhance RROC’s logic model. RROC leaders redefined how the constructs of the core fit into the broader picture of NRMN and identified how RROC programs and activities are aligned with their outcomes.

The meeting concluded with the RROC members outlining process improvements for past and future grant writing coaching group cohorts. These improvements led to the refinement of the upcoming Southeast Training Grantwriting Coaching Group session being held on October 28-29 in partnership with the Research Centers in Minority Institutions (RCMI) Translational Science Conference in Washington, D.C.
